Joel is an associate attorney at Thorp Purdy Jewett Urness & Wilkinson, P.C. He has a general practice with a focus on litigation, local government law, estate planning, probate and trust administration, and real property disputes. Joel is passionate about working with clients to meet their goals and overcome challenges through problem-solving.
Prior to law school, Joel attended the University of Wisconsin- Madison. He graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Legal Studies. Joel earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2021. He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in October of 2021.
Throughout law school, Joel made it a priority to gain valuable hands-on experience while simultaneously working with members of the local community. Joel clerked for Thorp Purdy during his second and third years of law school and remained with the firm as an associate attorney after his admission to the Oregon State Bar. While in law school, he spent time serving local small businesses at the Business Law Clinic, providing pro bono estate planning services through the Wills for the Underserved program, and as an Extern at the Lane County Circuit Court.
A native of Wisconsin, Joel has called Oregon his home since 2018 and enjoys exploring all that the Beaver State has to offer. In his free time, Joel enjoys playing golf, hiking, and cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers and Oregon Ducks.
